Speech Intervention
Speech intervention, also known as speech-language intervention, is a form of intervention designed to help individuals with communication disorders. These disorders can include difficulty with speaking, understanding language, or using language to communicate effectively.
Speech therapists, also known as speech-language pathologists, are trained professionals who work with individuals of all ages to improve their communication skills. They use a variety of techniques and strategies to help individuals overcome their communication disorders and achieve their goals. At ABC, our Speech therapists work closely with our ABA team in setting and monitoring appropriate communication programs in their IEPs.
Your child will work with an ABC speech therapist to identify and address any communication difficulties they may have. We will complete an evaluation at ABC to determine your child’s strengths and weaknesses in areas such as speech, language, and communication, and this is how we will create a customized ABC intervention plan to address your child’s specific needs.
The ABC speech sessions are designed to be fun and engaging for your child, using activities such as games, stories, and role-playing to help them learn and practice new skills. The ABC speech therapist will work with your child on different aspects of communication, such as pronunciation, language comprehension, and social communication skills. Your child’s progress will be regularly monitored and the intervention plan will be adjusted as needed to ensure that they are making progress toward their goals. You as a parent can play an important role in the process by encouraging your child to practice their new skills at home and providing feedback to the ABC team about your child’s progress.
If you have any questions about ABC speech programs or how they can work with your child, please feel free to contact us. We are here to support you and your child throughout their journey toward reaching their full potential.
